Ungru Zeppelin

Ungru Zeppelin - UZ

Ungru zeppelin — UZ, i.e., finishing plates with a sawed surface and natural edges

Material:

1.1.Made of weatherproof Ungru limestone, which is broken mechanically (without blasting) from limestone quarries in Ridala rural municipality, Lääne County.

1.2.Ungru limestone is a mixture of grey and yellow tones — occasionally the stones may also be in brownish-yellow, yellowish-brown, bluish-grey and other tones. The stones are with a layered structure.

Description of the product, dimensions and tolerances:

2.1.The front and back side of U-zeppelin stones are with sawed surfaces; all edges are either broken or with a natural surface.

2.2.The stones are multicoloured – with brownish-yellow, yellowish-brown and bluish-grey tones as well as with a layered texture.

2.3.The selection of colour is not performed.

2.4.When installing the stones, we get smooth surface and variable joint width. The heights of the layers are variable.

2.5.Standard dimensions: row heights 4–25 cm, the lengths of stones vary between 10–50 cm (mainly 20–40 cm). Thicknesses 2 cm, 4 cm and 10 cm.

2.6.Material with special dimensions is also available upon agreement.

2.7.The heights and lengths of stones are uneven, but remain in predetermined limits.

2.8.Height differences of one stone can be up to 3 cm.

2.9.Length differences of one stone can be up to 3 cm.

2.10. The ends of one stone do not have to be straight (right-angled), but the stones may not be rectangular.

2.11. The top surface of the stones is sawed, the resulting grading may be up to 1 mm.

2.12. Marking:

UZ 1 (U-zeppelin with 1 cm thickness)

UZ 2 (U-zeppelin with 2 cm thickness)

UZ 4 (U-zeppelin with 4 cm thickness)

UZ 10 (U-zeppelin with 10 cm thickness)

2.13. The stones may not have consistent cracks (NB! Not to mistake for the grooves of mineral calcite!).

2.14. After installation there may be some colour changes on the stones (brownish lines around the stone), which will later disappear.

2.15. U-zeppelin stones are sold by square metre. The amount of material in one package may differ from that indicated on the delivery note +/- 5%.

Information that must be indicated in an order:

3.1.Thickness

3.2.Place of use — either indoors or outside

3.3.We recommend obtaining 10–15% more material to compensate for the installation losses.

Possible places of usage:

4.1.For finishing the plinths and facades of buildings

4.2.For finishing fences and walls

4.3.For finishing fireplaces and internal walls, etc

4.4.For making garden paths (UZ 10) (some stones may cleave along the layers; this is not considered a defect)

Installation tips:

5.1.We recommend ordering installation works from Ungru Paekivi OÜ, who will give a 2-year warranty to both the material and the installation.

5.2.When performing installation works yourself, we advise using lime mortar, which is made of clean (washed) sand and clean water. We do not recommend using Portland cement, which may cause the stones to change their colour.

5.3.Ready-made mortars or mixtures of adhesive intended for the installation of natural stones may also be used when installing the stones.

5.4.Attention should be paid on making a proper hydroinsulation.
